One of our customers came by market last Saturday and purchased a variety of heirloom tomatoes and prepared a wonderful dish that evening. Color always brightens up dinner party and that’s exactly what she did. Barbara purchased a Red Oxheart (Red), an Aunt Ruby (green) and an Orange Strawberry (Orange) heirloom tomato. The dish was a big hit and the heirloom tomatoes were wonderful.
Heirlooms are not always the prettiest, but they are by far the tastiest.

German Green heirloom tomatoes are a cultivar originating with Ruby Arnold (1997), of Greeneville, Tennessee, but achieving great Seed Savers popularity. They are, as the name implies, "green" tomatoes, which really means they are a greenish yellow when fully ripe but are still tasty when picked early.
